Monuments are found in plenty as the country is ancient and seen many kingdoms, rulers and wars as well. It was a flourishing country with rich traditions and culture.
Most prominent is the Maiden Tower or the Qiz Qalasil, known for its architectural grandeur. Built in the 12th century, this monument was supposed to be a watch tower.
Another interesting place is the Atashgah fire temple near Baku and is a castle style temple. It is now declared as a historical-architectural reserve and was known to be the place of worship of the Hindus. It’s a beautiful place which is calm, and the monuments depict the old world charm. The huge construction in itself is quite admirable.

Azerbaijan is an Islamic country, and the citizens are proud to be one of the most liberal Muslim majority country. In the recent years, the country is focussing its religious tourism as well.
What you will find here is the centuries old mosque, like the Ajdar Mosque, the Iby Eybat mosque, which is both stunning and beautiful.
