Best time to visit
The Eastern states are different in each season, and you can get to experience the different atmosphere in different seasons. This part of the country is very diverse, and it all depends on what you actually want to experience here. The climate here is diverse as the summers are hot. The rainy seasons are damp and cold, and the winters bring in the chill and snow. However, if you do not want to be bothered by the season of any kind, then the best time is from November to April and also extends it to May. The lovely Tawang festival in Arunachal Pradesh is also held during the month of May. Every state experiences the different beauty and is actually beautiful throughout the year.
Summer season – the summers here begin from March to June. The maximum temperature does not exceed 35 to 40 degree Celsius, and there are hill stations and other places where the maximum temperature is 22 degree Celsius. So you can say that as whole summers are pleasant here if you want to visit unexplored places and hill stations.
Rainy season – The rainy season begins in June and goes on till September or October. However, there can be variations in the rains as not all regions receive the same kind of rain. Rains are heavy here, and one needs to be careful if you want to enjoy the waterfall, the cloudy weather and the greenery everywhere.
Winter season – winter seasons begins from October and ends in February. It is the best time to visit Eastern states of India. The temperature in most places does not cross 22 degree Celsius. Besides, there are several festivals organized during the winter season. One can even enjoy snow in some of the states as well.

How to reach
Transportation of all kinds is available in the Eastern states of India. All the modes of transport are well developed and run successfully and in a relaxed manner to all the states on the East. Siliguri and Guwahati are major points that join the whole eastern India to the rest of the country. However, all the states have their airport, railways, and roadways. Guwahati has very good air, road and rail link with the parts of the country and so one should reach Guwahati to reach the other parts of the Eastern India.
Air – major airport is available in Guwahati, and the other airports are Tejpur, Imphal, Shillong, Aizwal, Kohima and Bagdogra are found in various states. Regular flights connect the places and help in connectivity.
Railways – almost all the states are well connected to each other and the rest of the country through the railways. Guwahati is the headquarters of the eastern railways and operates the entire eastern railways. Some of the important stations are Howrah, Sealdah, Dhanbad, Mughalsarai, and Malda.
