So here we were secretly planning a trip to paradise – yes Kerala, why secretly you ask? Guys we are bunking classes and as the weather is heavenly now in Kerala we simply cannot miss the fun – got it? Anyways before leaving we will of course disclose it to our parents!
Ok, so we started planning for the 8 of us who love visiting great places. How to reach, move, visit, eat, stay, shop and plenty of other things – guys even the planning was getting exciting because it was paradise that we wanted to visit so badly. You see the very first thing that these guys wanted was to hit the beach, but, wait a moment I wanted the hill station. What next? Yes, argument and loads of it. After almost 2 hours, I gave up and said – the beach it is.
Destinations – unlimited
Yes, our group started heading towards Kovalam beach. After reaching I realized it was a good choice after all. You know the hotel was directly facing the beach and as it was sunset time, everyone took out their cameras and God, did they start clicking or what? This buddy of mine had a pro one and was truly inspired with the beauty of the palm trees lined along the shores, the sea spreading everywhere, and the orange sun smiling down on us with its rather mild rays.
The next day we did check other beaches like the Marari beach and the Varkala beach. What we observed was every place had its own charm. But as out next stop was Alleppey, Marari was close and secluded we decided to rest for the day here itself.
Our next destination was Alleppey or Alappuzha – again of course chosen due to its proximity to Marari beach. Alleppuzha backwaters are to be experienced and not written in words. But, one thing I will definitely like to tell you is that we had a lot of fun. The backwaters is nothing that I saw in the pictures or online or even in films. It’s amazing and the pure fresh breeze, the nature surrounding out houseboat and the delicate swash of the water beneath was awesome. We did book it for one night. The day was wonderful with calm rivers, lakes and lagoons that we traveled in and for once the 8 of us were simply silent and grasping the natural beauty everywhere as much as we could. What’s more the staff on the houseboat served some delicious fish and rice curry while on the deck.
Ok so now we moved on to another destination and this time it was of course the Munnar Hill station. Mind you this place is nothing but adorable. It’s charming, it’s truly simple, yet enchanting. One of my friend screamed when she saw the tea and coffee plantations that were lined up the hill in a sloppy manner. Why not? It was simply out of the world. We literally walked between them and clicked pics – you know we do want it posted on FB! We simply had to check the Kundala Lake – it’s simply exquisite. Besides, there is more to Munnar than just tea and coffee plantations.
Night life
Of course we had checked that before we left for our journey. Friends, you can chill in bigger places, like Kovallam beach, or Cochin or Trivandrum as they have the clubs and bars as there are five star hotels. Yeah, but these guys wanted cultural activities, and so we enjoyed the popular dance form Kathakali. The dancers were amazing. Hey! Discotheques are also very popular and you can shake a leg at the resorts there along with beach parties that will keep you busy all night.
Hope you guys enjoy too.
